[Ro...]
I need to find the min and max wall thickness of a small plastic cone near the big end opening. A tooling problem is creating a misalignment that needs to be monitored. It is creating a thin wall section along the diameter, usually accompanied by a thick wall section on the opposing side. I am currently measuring the ID and OD using a circle on a cone feature. I am creating a 2d curve using recall feature for both the ID and OD. Then I use the curve distance characteristic to get the min and max. Is there a better method for doing this? I don't think I'm getting the min/max wall thickness of opposing points along the diameter, rather I think I'm getting the min/max overall, and that my results are being overly influenced by outlying points.
