[SH...]
Can I unlock the screw in the adaptor plate highlighted in the photo, purpose of unlocking is I want to straight the stylus that I fix in the cube in the first photo. The style is 24 degree inclind to the y-axis I can't straight it ,while tightening the cube it became inclind. is there is any other option to straighten the cube other than unlock screw?? Unlocking the screw is a legal method?, I tried it but it is very hard, I think they use locktight to tight it.IMG_20200304_224444.jpgIMG_20200304_223725.jpg
[To...]
Are you talking about the 3 screws on the backside of the adapter plate? If so, yes, that is what those screws are for. I find the screws to be very tight sometimes but you can loosen them.
[Ow...]
I've unlocked and rotated them for 15 years and never had any issues. Just have to be careful and not over tighten them. I believe there is a torque spec on how tight they're supposed to be but, I've never used spec other than "a bit more than finger tight".
[Ro...]
Yes. It doesn't happen often but cubes do come loose. you can re-set them straight or at any angle you wish. At my last job we actually had a fixture that would key into the dowel pins on the top side of the base plate and a sliding 'Jig' would come in and set the cube straight. I cant find a picture of the fixture on google, but i know it was a Zeiss fixture. Update, i did find a picture of something similar, actually much better than the one we had. It clearly is built to leave access the 3 screws.fgdhfgdhfgh.JPG
[Mi...]
Loosen away. This is how we do it with the fix assist. Also note that you should (maybe) have a torque screwdriver that you torque up the 3 screws with. Mine came in a kit that was bought a few years back. Its preset to the 2Nm
[Ch...]
You can loosen those screws to adjust your probe angle just fine. Again, I recommend probing a cylinder on the reference sphere to make sure you are at your desired angle (I do this even on my probes set to 0 degrees). Or, I see that you have rotary adapter attached to you your other probe. That will work too.
[Ma...]
You can loosen the screws and rotate your entire stylus configuration about Z or you can use a rotary adaptor to rotate all or a portion of your configuration.
