[To...]
I have a part that has a machined surface that has multiple radii on it, I have to pull points at different lengths from the datum. I will have a model for this, I'm trying to figure out how I will go about getting the points. Since it's not a standard feature, I think I will have to program the points and tell the stylus to give me the values from that, but I'm concerned if I don't get the angle just right I'll get bad data. Does anyone have a good idea on how I should attack this?CMPR AIR INT TURBO.pdf
[Cl...]
So, it sounds like you are trying to measure small radii? If I'm understanding you correctly, you aren't able to extract an appropriate feature? Have you tried extracting as "Define Circle on a cylinder"? One option would be "Space Points" Their more for profile, but at least they would tell you were your surface is.

You can trace a curve using CAD model section at that particular area, then select a point in the curve, change the normal of points According to drawing requirement, delete the unwanted points. I have not programmed this like profile, l don't know it will work or not... just telling my idea.

I'm getting the model today, but based on other jobs I'm not confident I can extract multiple radii off that feature - there are 7-8 different radii around that feature, some are only 1.0mm in length. Thanks for the tips though, I will try them out.
[Ch...]
Finally, another turbo. I remember my first compressor housing scroll profile. Instead of reporting multiple radii, why don't you just report the one profile callout that's on the print? That is a pretty typical compressor housing scroll callout. Do you mean combine all the hits into a feature or pull whatever Calypso thinks that feature is, use that as the feature and do the profile from those? Again, I don't have the model yet so I'm just guessing Calypso won't know what to make of it. I don't have the curve package either.
[Ch...]
I see, with no curve and no model then you are only left with reporting the radii. I wish I had better advice for you, but I don't think that will work very well. I hope you can prove me wrong but that is a lot of very short radii to try and measure. CAD models or atleast the curve package is a must for measuring turbo's.
