Shabu, You are going to go to the measurement plan folder and there is a .txt file titled username you can open this with notepad. Go ahead and change the name to your desired result and make sure to save. The default C:\\>users>public>public documents>zeiss>calypso>workarea>inspections then locate the measurement plan you wish to rename and the second to last file will be titled "username". Make sure to rename the measurement plan folder as well not that it becomes confusing. Hope this helps!

What you are trying to say, this is an unorthodox method and would cause malfunction to basealignment . IAM not a native English speaker, that is why I am asking.

It's actually the contrary that's true. Trying to rename the program by renaming text lines in the files is a recipe for disaster. There are certain relationships between program files that can become disassociated. I've seen bad things happen.

Save as is the correct way to go about it, IMO.

Also, when you do a 'Save As' with a program, and give it a new name, you may want to change the base alignment name to match. It will not automatically update the base alignment and will have the original name.

No. 🙄 It means that if you save the plan under a new name, the base alignment definition stored inside the plan will keep its old name. Not a problem so far, only confusing (for others).
BUT problems could arise if you came up with the idea of creating yet another measurement plan and giving it the same (old) name you just changed. Then you'd have the situation that two programs used the same BA name and thus would overwrite each other's BA files on the harddisk only (N-O-T inside the measurement plan!!). That's why it's a brilliant idea to always have the base alignment named after the measurement plan's name.

Btw., oddest discussion about a trifle I've seen in a long time...

I don't get why you have such a problem with using save as, seems like you're just trying to be difficult. So what have you been doing up until now when you needed to rename a program?
