Extra probe rack

We have a larger Contura G2 with an MSR mini rack and three, 3 socket holders. We need to add two more 3 socket holders for dedicate stylus systems (we need a separate set of styli to use on specific jobs to avoid contamination, current jobs are implants).
What are my options? I know I can add a longer arm on the existing MSR, which will allow me to add another 3 socket bay, but beyond that, what can I do?

Get rid of all your short horizontal bars and replace them with longer bars, its really quite cheap (as compared to anything else in quality) you can buy a 36 inch piece of 40x40 T slot tubing for $23 + shipping.
Or, since you're in GR there is almost definitely an Alro in your town, they should have the same stuff for even less. plus you'll have to go get it, so that should get you out of the shop for a solid hour lunch.

What Roberto said! That's my next move when I need another rack slot. Also, I cut the MSR rack down to gain extra measuring envelope. I pushed ours as far back as the machine would handle in the Y direction then cut the riser down so all initial rotations are done above the rack and don't need clearance anywhere else. No reason to have the probe rack 18" off the plate for a head that cant handle styli over 6" long other than styli change time. Measuring envelope is more important to me than the 1 second it adds to a stylus change.

We did that with our Brown & Sharpes.
Crazy how much less you crash your probe into the rack, when the rack is low and out of the way.
