Position Call out for Z location

Hey guys,

I am trying to figure out why the values are measuring different when I look at the Z value from the diameters. On the attachments you see that the Z value from the face to the center of the hole measures at .1107. But on the position it is saying it is measuring at .1157. I would like to know why the software is measuring this way.

Thanks

Where can I find the Shape of Zone? Is the software just calculating something different? Or should I just re align the part and run the program again?

Because -A- is a diameter but the .110 is called out on the blueprint as a basic but it is not an established Datum.

Along the lines of what Dane is saying... Is the callout only in Z? If so you need to change the shape of zone in your True Position window to Only Z

In Calypso you measure to a fully constrained alignment but in your characteristic reporting you are, in this case, only reporting from a single datum. When you release the other degrees of freedom from the measured alignment you will typically see some variation.

So what I did was I put the plane which is implying as Datum -B-, first into my Primary Datum and Datum -A- the cylinder into the secondary datum, and the position comes in good.

Thanks guys for the help it makes sense now when it comes to the alignment.
