[Ke...]
I am trying to find the XY location of a circle but I wanted to know if this can be done by taking a point in the diameter like we do to set the location of the probe rack. I have seen this done on Faro Arm's just wondering if it can be done in Calypso?
[Me...]
If you have the Calypso cookbook there is a procedure for dealing with a drill tip a the bottom of the hole. Also I sometimes have C'bores that are too shallow for my smallest probe, 1MM. I'll keep the probe high enough to not scrap the bottom. Hit 4 points obviously not getting dia. but getting location. I'll do the same thing for holes too small for the probe to enter. I don't know if I've answered your Q but there are some smart cookies here so hope they can also chime in. [Me...]
If you're talking about self centering on a diameter you can do this with a point feature. Go to the strategy/probing point for the settings. Obviously you need to use a probe diameter larger than the hole size.
[Te...]
Can you do self centering accurately with a XXT head?

[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I was told at advanced class that the passive XXT can't do self centering. You need active scanning. I guess it will still go through the motions but without the active feedback your just working with spring tension and your results will be hit or miss. [Jo...]
short line scan across hole in X and Y to get lowest coordinates ? I use this method to get location of scribed indicator lines that are too small to probe.
