You's guys and gals are gonna love this...

We recently had a rookie CMM guy get a ton of small diameter parts ( .059 - .061 in) rejected from a highly respected aerospace company because his fixturing wasn't quite right. The parts were sent back so I double checked them and got what the customer got.

In the meantime we bought a really nice modern Starrett comparator and management is so impressed with it that think they can accurately check this same bore. I put one up to show them that one small tilt will throw that logic right out the window and we'll be out to lunch on queer street. This management guy actually says to me, "I trust this over the CMM results you got from the Zeiss."

It's hilarious because the customer who rejected these parts also checked them with a Zeiss.
