Offline Seat Laptop GPU Configuration

Hey guys,

My laptop has the ability to choose which gpu it uses, GPU0 (Intel cpu) and GPU1 (Nvidia). Now that I've installed Calypso on it, I want it to use GPU1. I went to the windows graphics settings, and changed Calypso to "high performance", which means it should be using GPU1. But when I'm in task manager, I see that Calypso is flashing between GPU0 and GPU1. Is this normal? Is there a way to make it only GPU1?

I also can't get into the Nvidia display settings. For whatever reason, it seems that our IT department has blocked it.

Which task are you looking at in task manager? The main Calypso task is vwnt.exe, but all the CAD graphics is handled by the ACIS task (acisXX.exe - XX = version number).

I've had big issues with installing a new SSD drive and new O/S win 10. vwnt.exe and acis.exe. were getting jaspered. The windows defender and firewall had to be told that these .exes were 'good guys'. (I was using Nvidia, not Intel)
That finally all got set OK, but acis still froze/crashed randomly. After calling Zeiss support, the global setting for Nvidia should be set to 'Autodesk Motion Builder - compatible'. (see image)
After setting the vid card to that? All good!
You need to explain to your IT folks Nvidia manager can't be blocked, so let you have perm for it -- or if they are micro-managing tools, then THEY need to set it for you....
