[Wi...]
Does Calypso have a FLIP option or something close........I used to use it a lot when i was programming PC Dmis and its a real quick remedy for moving features real fast..... Not a pattern just a flip about the axis....any help is most appreciated 🙂
[Cl...]
Do you want to "mirror" a program?
[Ch...]
There have been a few threads about this. You can search on this forum and the old one. I'm busy now but I will do some searching and try to find some links for ya. In short, it is possible and a lot of people, including myself, utilize it a lot. [Wi...]
Mirror would prob work but its not exactly what i was looking for..... Thanks though cause that will be the fix until then 🙂 Thank You 😃
[Ch...]
Ok, full disclosure. I really need to start actually reading the questions before I answer them. Hope it at least helped someone.
[No...]
So if it's not mirroring, what exactly does FLIP do then?
[De...]
My assumption would be that it it makes a feature that is non symmetrical face the opposite direction without mirroring the feature. Imagine a face that has an L shape to it with the mirror option the the two vertical sides of the L would be mirrored so they were in different places with the vertical sides at opposite ends of the horizontal side, if you flipped them, the vertical sides would be opposed to one another at the same end of the horizontal section. If this is the intent, then I agree it would be very useful, because I often have complex shapes that require polylines to be constructed, then in order to make the matching polyline on the opposing face is often a frustrating process. So far as mirroring is concerned, I know you can mirror models, but can you actually use any actual mirror function to mirror features? I usually make an alignment and rotate the features 180.0 degrees by changing which alignment they use while using the keep position option if I need to mirror something. For fIipping features have had some luck in the past with swapping the direction of the space axis and then modifying the position and modifying rotation values. This can work for flat planes that have their normal inline with an axis but the numbers become difficult to calculate when the feature is on a compound angle. I use the rotate by alignment and modify the space axis methods a lot also. mirroring the measurement plan is great for LH/RH parts that are symmetrical. If one was inspecting a single part where two halves are symmetrical, you could program half, mirror the program, and copy & paste the other half into the original program... but I don't get very many parts like that.
