This program is failing in X&Y at almost every magnification. I had a similar issue
a few years ago, and vaguely remember the Zeiss technician remoting in and making
some adjustments under Stylus system management - Geometry? Anyone familiar
with what I'm asking?

I'm not certain about that. I do know that if you are having issues, it might be best to re-do the chrome dot glass plate.
