[Gr...]
I have a solid model created in AutoCad Inventor LT 2019 which consist of the main part with a gauging fixture and Pins added. The Pins and fixture can be turned off and on as needed when evaluating the part in Inventor but the problem is I cannot turn them off in Calypso as needed. When exported as either a .stp or .sat file it loads into Calypso as a single entity. Gear Pro is not an option, per the owner, but he wants the spline measured with a graphic result and the under pin dimension garnered from measuring all 33 pins and getting a result from created intersect points. Again, circle in a contour is vetoed because he does not trust results. It would be nice to do this with one program and just turn off and on the features and graphics as needed along with programmable stops for adding and removing fixture and pins. I have attached some pictures from Inventor with layers turned on and off to try and give an idea of what I am trying to accomplishSpline+Pins.jpgPins+LockingFixture.jpgMainSpline.jpg
[Ch...]
Could you use PCM to swap CAD models during the program? This isn't something I do normally; However, I have a new project with a need to insert different CAD models during the program run. Maybe someone who currently does this can point us in the right direction.
[Me...]
How about loading more than 1 model into Calypso from Inventor and turning them on/off as needed? You should be able to export different geometry from Inventor, load them into Calypso (Don't combine them) and turn them on/off in the Hierarchy tab. [Gr...]
Will definitely give this a try. I have a separate file for each component saved in a .stp as well as a .sat format. Thanks Greg K
[No...]
For clarification: When you say the STEP loads as a single entity, is that before or after any healing you may apply after loading? I have no experience with STEP in Calypso, but when I load our NX assemblies, they initially load as seperate entities. Only if I apply a certain healing function, Calypso combines everything to a single entity. So I don't.
[Gr...]
This was the first try loading a solid Model as a complete assembly. First try I bombed. You do not want to do a healing process nor do you want to mess with the color in the CAD Settings, both seem to combine all the components into a single solid. Second try was a total success. After loading the .stp file I went to the Hierarchy to find each component separated in the Cad tree so basically I can turn the features I need on and off. What was nice is when I ran the CAD Model Comparison all the features associated themselves to the solid. Bottom line thank you all for the help. This works better than I anticipated Greg K
