[Ha...]
Has anyone used the PPAP template that is displayed in PiWeb Monitor? I am trying to figure out the most efficient way to complete our first articles/PPAPs and would like to consolidate all the data collected using PiWeb. Right now, we export our data to an excel spreadsheet template, input manual dimensions, then copy the results into customer supplied excel reports. However, I know there must be a better way to collect all of this data in one central location. I would appreciate any suggestions thank you! [a1...]
Harrison, I thought you had PiWeb SBS or Enterprise? This should be pretty straightforward to do. You'll need your FAI form, a manual measurement entry sheet (generic, or customized per part #) and then you'll have your CMM data coming in to the server as well. Your server should act as the central location and you can use your templates to query all of this data to pull it together into one cohesive report. [Mi...]
And on another note, you can put the manual measurements IN your calypso program. It will be a pop up window so you can enter the data. That way it all comes up on the report with out any xls entries.
[Al...]
Harrison, there is a template already built for first articles and PPAPs like you are asking about. I have used it and it works well. It isn't the same layout as Rev C requires, but it can be enough for the Form 3 requirements. Try it and see what it looks like with your data in there. The new version of PiWeb also has a manual data entry form for any characteristics that are not handles automatically (CMM). If you are not using PiWeb SBS or Enterprise, you won't be able to create your own characteristics to fulfil the FAI unless you create them in Calypso as manual entry and then just leave them blank when you run. You could put them at the beginning or end of your run and just hit enter throughout. Mark them ON so they don't show up on your report as OOT. Then you can use the manual entry template in piweb to fill in the data later. If you have a separate PiWeb server, then it gets even easier. You can create characteristics and calculations on the fly so you can use those report templates or create your own FAI template very easily.
