Import Data From SolidWorks Inspection

Has anyone had any experience importing data from something like SolidWorks Inspection? We currently create all of our "bubble prints" using SolidWorks Inspection so we already have each characteristic defined (characteristic #, tolerance, inspection method etc.). Is there an easy way to export that data into PiWeb Planner rather than having to define characteristics again? The only export options from SolidWorks are through an Excel report or an .xml file. I see in PiWeb Planner you can "configure import format", but that is about as far as I can get.

Hi Harrison,

I believe you will be interested in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DtzspjcRKI.
As far as I know you have 2 paid options to get it work:
- Solidworks https://www.alignex.com/solidworks-mbd-resources package/add-on, or
- Calypso add-on to import native file formats

Dig around, if possibly you already have some of this options. If you do, try to mess with and report back!

Hi Harrison,

there is a solution available from AfM. 2633_f092a47a184e729d716a1196a7297998.pdf
Export a csv from Solidworks Inspection and it will create all characteristics for CALYPSO.

Best regards

Alex
