Opening Non Calypso programs in Calypso ( Pc-DMIS - GEOPAK?)

Hi all,

How am I able to open a PC-DMIS program thru Calypso? Or convert it.

Secondly, A supplier sent their Program :

"Please refer to the attached CMM program folder.
The file names may look strange in Window. They can only show correct file name by being opened with Mitutoyo software.
The attached PDF file is the program printed after opening it.
The software version is GEOPAK in MCOSMOS-2 V4.0R9.
Please advise if you need further details. "

See picture also for files.

Is it possible to open this to view program? I am assuming it is not.

Thanks in advance.

I have tested the conversion out. And yes I believe you do need a seat of pcdmis and a license for the pcdemis converter in calypso in order to bring it into calypso.
from what i heard it works fairly well. i'm sure there are some things you need to fix such as base alignment and stylus tools.

Curious as to anyone whos used these programs to convert from PCD to Calypso.
I was offered a 30 day trial (a very long time ago), but haven't taken the offer as my current workload is pretty booked.

1) Does it work, in general, broad question?

2) More specifically does it convert scans into free form surfaces?
3) Does it only work with "xact measure", or does it also work with "Legacy"?
4) can it handle recalled features? as in points into planes or multiple scan segments into a combined scan?

Good questions. I've only used the importer a handful of times, and it has typically always been on touch-trigger machines.

As for your general question, yes. It is an importer, not a translator. I always try to explain to people that the Calypso program will only be as good as the PC-DMIS program.

There has been a lot of time and effort put into the importer to ensure that it works, and works well.

If you are serious about it, I would suggest reaching out to your distributor on getting a demo with some programs that you'd like to see imported.
