[Da...]
So I need to use self centering points on some holes in sheet metal. And there are a lot of holes involved (>100). I would really like to avoid the "Create point and edit nominal locations" process. Too much potential for error, and the drawing references CAD geometry anyway. Is there any way to click on a cad feature (ie a circle) and have Calypso create a point at the center of the feature? Or otherwise to create self centering points in holes? [Ow...]
Somebody might chime in with a better idea to do it exactly how you envision but, have you considered using a cylinder probe to just measure each hole for location? Aside from that, in the circle feature strategy under "special" there is an option to use self-center. I've never used it like that.
[Ga...]
Have you tried patterning? You could create a pattern template for all of your holes, then add a self centering point and formula its nominals to be the position of your first circle. Then pattern the self centering point with the same template as the holes.
