[Su...] Posted October 23, 2019 Share Posted October 23, 2019 Dear all In my program base alignment representative features origins have different values apart from nominals (please see attachment) My question is when ever we take the base alignment feature nominals & actuals(ie X origin, Y origin, Z origin) must be the same (in my view). Because we are measure the all features from the base alignment. Here my problem is I am getting actuals different from the nominals.(please see attachment). Does it affect the measurement characteristics? Is there any solution for this. The alignment is only being calculated and saved at the moment when you close the alignment window with the OK button (assuming we're talking of a manual measurement). If you then measure one of those features again, you will usually get results that differ slightly from zero. Calypso doesn't calculate the alignment again just because you re-measure a feature on which it is based. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
[To...] Posted October 23, 2019 Share Posted October 23, 2019 The Z actual of cylinder2 is located at the origin of cylinder 2 which is represented by the feature's trihedron. However, the axis of cylinder2 where it intersect the axis of cylinder1 is Z0.000. To test this, create an intersection of cylinder1 and 2, and you'll see the Z value is 0.000. Cylinder2 can rotate about Z until the A1 Y/X is zero but the A2 Z/X cannot rotate because of cylinder1 and its' spatial obligation. But I have a doubt about nominals of other features ( ie except base alignment) are represented from the base alignment distance like X ,Y&Z(from base alignment center). In this case the nominal are represented from where . I mean feature reference( like this/that plane/cylinder distance from the some XYZ plane or cylinder) In other case size -> standards -> X value or Y value or Z values are little bit effect from the base alignment feature deviation (ie like 2microns or 10 microns)?
