Importing Measuring probes in Calypso Planner

Hi all forum members!

I quite new here, and my English is not perfect so bear with me.

At my company we currently have 2 CMM machines. Contura and Accura. I'm currently setting up the planner, so we can do simulation runups for preparing programs before the parts even arrive.

I have imported probes from System stylus creator for Accura and everything works like a charm. I can see the adapter , extensions, all probes works, automatic racks , everything.

But with the Contura I'm having problems in Planner.
I watched videos in Zeiss portal for settings new machine, for RDS-XXT and importing probes over SSC. But nothing seems to work as I always get the same result.

See the attachment below. Sometimes the RDS head is displayed, sometimes not, but the probe is always in the wrong position.By the connector for the RDS head.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem, I been trying with this for more than a week, but end up with the same results....
It's the same with all probes.

On your online computer, go to Extras > Settings > Miscellaneous > Maintenance and make a backup file.
Save it to a network drive then load it onto your offline seat.
Now your offline seat will have all the same settings as your online seat.

Thanks Roberto!

I did just that and It displayed the RDS head but without probe.
As soon as I import the ssc file, the RDS head is gone and the probe is moved there.

@Patrick,

I found the RDS probe adapter RDS-XXT 18p and the VAST XXT TL3 in the SSC and compiled them together with the probe.
I managed to import the complete set into the Calypso and it appeared it worked, I can see the whole assembled set. Thank you for advice.
But the problem now is that the probe does not touch where it's suppose to. It's missalligned.

I already qualifyed stylus but it's still missalligned. I'm affraid I will have to do it manualy.... 😕

I was going to ask if you set up the correct head in CMM settings, but if you copied the settings of the online CMM, this should be ok. Can't hurt to check however...
Have you set up (imported) the correct master probe?

I had the same issues with probes without CAA- Mode and the backup file.
I created a new CMM with the default values, didn't used the backup-file and created my Probes with the SSC. (only have a few Probes and almost all CAA.)

The default values I got from Zeiss for the RDS XXT are (Extras/settings/CMM/Stylus system):
Xs: 0 +Xm
Ys: 60 -Ym
Zs: 192.9 -Zm

After this, my Planner worked fine.

Yes, I have imported the XXT -TL3 master probe. The exact one the online machine has.

The default we have on Contura is:
Xs: 0 +Xm
Ys: 55 -Ym
Zs: 135 -Zm

When building stylus systems for an RDS machine, you need to first select the RDS components in the Stylus System Creator.

Start a new stylus system - (if asked which head, select none).

Follow the order below.

Probe holders - RDS holder
Probe adapters - [RDS] Probe adapter RDS-XXT 18p (unless you know you have an old 5p)
Sensors / probes - VAST XXT TL3 18p (or whichever version XXT you have)

Now you have free to add anything to it. You will need to do this for you MasterProbe as well as all of your other stylus systems. The RDS machine is the only machine you have to do this on.

So I did the following:
-Used the data for Masterprobe that Patrick gave me
-in SSC I Did exactly as you told me, but I didn't compile with RDS holder as it was already in planner
-so the probes were compiled (start new stylus ->none ; Probe adapter RDS XXT 18p & Sensor VAST XXT TL3 18p & XXT TL3 adapter-> D3x50L probe)

Results:
+ I can see fully the complete assembly of the RDS xxt and probes 😃
+ the master probe touches the surface exactly where it needs to
+ the new probe touches surface exactly where it needs to, but only in A0B0 position.

- If the probe is positioned into e.g. A0B60 The geometry stylus data is empty all "0".
- even if I do geometry re-qualification, nothing changes.
-so in the planner when positioned to A0B60 the dot when you define points is somewhere where position A0B0 would be....

I wanted to use exact data from our CMM Contura pa the data does not match the simulation. Inserted all the info ( +Xm, -Ym,-Zm, geometry data from probes, etc,...) but the probes are sllighty missaligned...(give or take few mm) .

Why aren't the new geometry data generated when I change A and B position?
