Best Fit Bore Pattern

Quick questions. I saw on here that a Best Fit Bore Pattern can only be used in a 2 Dimensional/Coaxial case.

(1) Can BFBP be used with only one feature as my "pattern"?
(2) Can BFBP be used with, let's say, a primary datum along X, secondary along Y, tertiary along Z? In other words, can it be used in a fully 3D situation?

Edit: I got Calypso to throw an exception by choosing my primary datum feature as my bore pattern and evaluating "View Tolerance" i.e. with MMB/LMB and the exception mentions "Zeiss.Calypso.OMFitEvalPar2d>>resultForFit2d:" which implies that this is a 2D fit, i.e. not a suitable replacement for 3D MMB on one feature. Is this an accurate assumption?

Yes I do this all the time because it's the only way to show a plot for a single feature. (The cookbook has a really nice looking single position plot too but you have to create it.)

Yes. The datum reference frame can be anything to my knowledge. You can use your secondary alignments as a DRF if you wish.

When you want to use MMB your options do have a limit. The best fit is definitely only 2D. You can tell just by the options you get to best fit. You cannot best fit all 6 degrees of freedom. Only one degree of rotation and 2 degrees of translation.
