[Za...]
Hello everybody, Is there an easier way to program this test block without probing each hole manually? We're having an issue with some of our tooling and they created a test block that has the same features on each hole from each tool from various machines. I don't have a cad file to use and there's 110 holes to probe and setup. I was just wondering if there was a quicker way to create the features in sort of a "batch" style since they are the same distance from center to center each direction. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Zach
[De...]
Measure the first one as you normally would, then in the center dropdown in the feature (options) create a 2d linear pattern. This should allow you to set the distance in each direction plus the number of features to check. You will need to know the distance in X and Y between each feature. Of course this assumes the features are in fact a known distance from one another in X and Y.
[Ch...]
I've done this exact same thing to validate different machines. What Derek described works perfect. Consider increasing either the clearance distance or search distance before nominal of the probing if you have any doubts about the accuracy of the bores location. [Za...]
Perfect, thank you guys. I will give that a try here in a little bit.
[Za...]
Just wanted to report back and say that the program is running perfect with the pattern feature. Thank you guys again for your help.
[Za...]
Okay, so to make the program spit out the results the way I wanted, I had to do 11 1D patterns instead of 1 2D pattern. No biggie, but I'm running into an issue with the cone calculations not showing the correct nominal value on the results. Does anybody have a remedy for this? [Wo...]
As far as I can remember I had this bug in one of the Calypso versions. You need to either adjust the nominals on the cone so the cone calculation result matches your nominal perfectly or change the tolerance on the characteristic to match the incorrect nominal from the cone calculation. For me, changing the nominal value in characteristic window only changed it for the first feature in the pattern, for the rest of the features it would be the one from "cone calculation" feature. [Za...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I'm using Calypso 6.6, Does anybody know if this is fixed in the newest version?
[He...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Right click in the nominal field and choose formula -> Type in the desired nominal value. This will force the nominal to be what the formula is. This is not a bug but a result of Calypsos hierarchy of values. 1. Formulas - Either fixed values or dynamic values 2. Values from patterns 3. Field values I probably forgot some more that should be in between the ones above.

Thank you for the response Henrik, I'll give that a try as soon as I get through some production inspections and have some time to mess with the test block again.
