[Ra...]
How do I match the CAD model and the camera on the O-Inspect. I pulled in the CAD model, but I'm not sure how to match up the camera so that I can use the camera for my measurements when I pick features on the CAD. [No...]
You need a measured base alignment first. But you don't measure with the camera while picking something on the CAD. You can either show the camera view or the 3D view. Although you can have the camera image visible in the 3D view, it's merely a visualization of what the camera is currently looking at (to get that right you need the base alignment), but doesn't help you much when selecting CAD features. [Ra...]
I pulled in my CAD model and put it in the orientation that is appears on the table. Do I need to extract the features that I will use to match the CAD with the camera view? How do I use the measured alignment to match the CAD model and the camera view? [No...]
As soon as you have measured the base alignment on the real part, the camera view and the CAD model should match unless there are huge deviations.
[Ra...]
I'm still having trouble with the camera not matching where I want to measure features on the CAD. Do I need to create the base alignment on the CAD model? How do I run it manually to get it to match the CAD? I run the base alignment manually and then my camera goes off to where the CAD appears to be on the screen. What am I doing wrong?
[Ga...]
When you have a CAD to use, it's typically best to pull all of your base alignment features from the CAD FIRST, before you do anything manually. Extract/define your base alignment features from your CAD, and then assign them to your base alignment. After your base alignment is properly defined, THEN perform a manual alignment. Now the CMM will know where your part is and the camera should be properly aligned to your model.
[No...]
This is generally a good idea in Calypso, no matter if you use tactile or optics. Never mix manual and CAD alignment. Do everything manually from the start OR do everything on the CAD an then align manually. But if you have started without a CAD and did the whole alignment manually, you can then load a CAD model and both should still match. Of course the location of the coordinate system tripod on the CAD and the manual alignment must match too.
