[Ro...]
Why cant FF find its way around a corner? I'm tired of having to create multiple scans to get around a corner, then stack them in order and send them to points then regather them into a single scan. this doubles or triples the time it takes to get around the part. Fyi the surface in question is a straight wall "Cylindrical" surface, not a complex 3d surface.hgfjhgfhgfghk.JPGjhgjkhfgkjhfjhk.JPG
[No...]
Have you tried "curvature-dependent"?

[Ri...]
Is there any reason you aren't using Curve? In addition, if you are set on using Free-Form, then section the model at the heights you want to measure, and generate the path from the curve. [Ro...]
I don't use curve because i have surface profiles, not line profiles. In the area shown here the surface i have is very narrow so im going around a perimeter, but i dont stay at the same level the whole way round, i have to move in & out to adjust for fixture and part edge. On the wider segments i go back & forth on the surfaces at given spacing as required by our customer. Plus i like the ease in which i can edit Free Form. But i still wish it could find its way around a corner as easy as competitor software can (Start, Direction, End)fdjhkfgdjhksfgd.JPGfgdjhkfgdjhk.JPG
[Ri...]
You could always just make multiple sections of a curve, and recall it into a Free-Form surface. Curve is much easier to work with.
