I have seen at the run screen under speed something called 'vMax'. Does anyone know what this means?

It's actually the max allowed speed at that given time of the machine.

You will notice this change on machines that have light curtains and safety doors. Click on it, and it will show you.

Also, this is nice to have for older machines that don't run at 300 mm/sec (ConturaG2, etc....), so you can move programs from one type of machine to another and not worry about messing with the speed (especially on machines like the Accura 2 that runs at 460 mm/sec).

I had to shut down a Navigator for the weekend. When we restarted this morning there was a Vmax setting in the speed selection box of the Start Measurement screen. NO idea where it came from. But it has set our max speed at 70mm/s. How can I get rid of it? We usually run at about 160mm/s.

Thanks

Did you ever find the answer to this Daniel? We have a retrofitted Brown and Sharpe machine that a Zeiss Engineer set up with Calypso. However, at time of setup he didn't know what the travel speed of this machine could be, so he set vMax at 50mm/s. This is way too slow; especially when considering how this machine used to run when PCDMIS was installed a couple years ago. I have tried to find a Setting for this, and looked through countless files, but cannot locate anywhere. I currently have a request in with Zeiss I am waiting on, but was curious whether your issue was resolved, as I do not see anymore responses.

thanks.
