Probe pulling out of holder

So this is new...

After dropping off the probe in the rack, the adapter plate clings to the XXT and get pulled out of the probe rack. Sometimes it jams in the sliding probe rack cover, sometimes it falls, sometimes it clings to the outside of the XXT, as shown below. The only probe that does it is a 0.5x20mm on a 20mm extension. (Maybe because it's not that heavy??) It's a regular 0.5x20mm probe, with a standard stainless extension. This probe configuration is not new, it's been in the rack for years, and I use it regularly.

Thoughts??

While I've never seen one of our XXT stylus plates hang on like that, I did recently encounter an issue with a stylus system (similarly light, a 3mm x 50mm w/ carbon fiber shaft) catching on the socket cover and getting pushed out by it. An operator suggested the stop flange on the plate might have accumulated some gunk, and after jamming an isopropyl-soaked Q-Tip into it (and cleaning the underside of the socket for good measure) the problem seems to have gone away. Best guess, the aerial contaminants in the shop deposited on the top side of the flange over time to form a slightly sticky residue. Coupled with the light weight of the stylus, there was just enough adhesive force keeping it in place that the socket cover would catch the plate or a bearing just as the adhesion finally gave. Makes me question the design of the XXT sockets, or wish that the stylus change macro brought the head a little farther up before retracting.
