[Me...] Posted October 4, 2019 Share Posted October 4, 2019 Hi, Is it unreasonable to try and measure a radius that in 1.5" over a small part of the arc? The length of the arc is approx .400" I attempted this but the results are not correct and are unreliable. I'm very new to CMM and not sure of this is what I can expect from the poor setup or just my lack of skill and knowledge in the approach. [Ri...] Posted October 4, 2019 Share Posted October 4, 2019 Since you have such a small segment, your uncertainty goes through the roof. Which is why your numbers aren't repeating/accurate. Profile with a min max tolerance perhaps. Shape control as opposed to trying to measure a circle segment with such a small range to acquire its size and no opposing points to lock in its position.
