[Er...]
Vladimir, I would suggest you don't add this to your network. We have had much better success running the software locally on a PC, but saving the programs to the network. The programs are backed up daily, and we can still use the CMM if the network goes down. Maybe others have had better success than us.
[Za...]
for us is very bad idea work whit out network. We have all programs, draws and technological documents on server and use some net application from our ERP system to control/plane work of operators
[Me...]
Vladimir I would agree with Eric on this. Programs on the network and let the Calypso software control the permissions of who can do what. We have our CMM's set up with the privileges and password protected so the machine operators cannot change any programs (just run them) and then we have other privileges for inspectors and programmers. this is all controllable inside of Calypso. [Am...]
We have our set up on the network, Have 6 Zeiss CMMs with all programs and data going to the same place. We don't have any issues doing it that way and its been this way for a little over 2 years. Its on the company domain. IT here is very strict so no admin right are allowed for the users, we haven't had any problems with it affecting Calypso. But if you have an O-Inspect you will need IT to allow a couple exceptions to the firewall for the camera to work.
