[Ma...]
Hello Gentlemen, I know this a pretty dumb question but couldn't find the answer on this one and am having trouble reporting(calling) this out. how do I report profile with size control under characteristics. I am referring to the composite callout in the top left corner
[Ch...]
Hi, This appears to be a refinement tolerance. Profile with no datum is to itself, so in this case essentially form or flatness. To be able to report profile with no datum in Calypso, you will have to recall points into a FreeForm Surface (FFS), and when you choose the Profile Characteristic, under alignment there will be an option for "No Datum Reference Frame". Good Luck.

[Ma...]
Sorry for some reason the 2 surfaces didn't show in the original image. I think they are looking for more of a parraelism Untitled.png

[Ch...]
I think Datum B the symmetrical plane of those 2 surfaces, and should be "flat" or have form error less than .0001" Also curious as to what -A- is ?

[Br...]
It's not a dumb question. The drawing is confusing. If this is Y14.5 it's drawn wrong. You cannot apply a profile tolerance to a center plane like that. It must be directly applied to the surfaces. So assuming they meant the two surfaces that make up Datum feature B, each have this profile tolerance applied to them, now you have another problem. There is already a size tolerance between those two planes. The 6.000 +.005/-.000 should probably be a basic dimension. All this can really do is control the perpendicularity of each surface .0003 to A, and the parallelism of the surfaces to each other within .0001. If that's really what they wanted, this is a very strange way to do it. Most engineers would simply use Perpendicularity and Parallelism tolerances as it is much clearer.
