Hello,

New computer with Version 6.8 installed.

The CMM is stuck in simulation mode and there in no other option in the drop-down under settings.

How do I get out of simulation mode and back to G2Aktiv?

Thanks

Josh

Extras > Settings > CMM

Click on the Machine tab you want to enable. Make sure Simulation only is not enabled.

Ensure you don't have 'Reconnect during system start' enabled for a Simulation tab.

Thanks for responding.

Under Control Type

The drop down says Zeiss 32 Bit, which is what I want, but the 'Simulation only (Off-line)' is grayed out and the box has a check mark. It won't let me click on it. The 'reconnect during system start' is not checked.

Did you select the machine tab at the bottom of that window? There are likely 2 of them. One says Simulation and the other will have a name related to your machine. Select that tab and verify simulation is un-checked. Then, click the Connect button

Ohhhhh, I'm just seeing "new computer". You'll have to create a machine tab to match your existing machine configuration. Otherwise, Calypso will not know what machine you're trying to connect to.

Go to Measuring System tab, type Contura into the text field and click Add.

Fill out all of your machine specifications. Be careful with the Temperature coefficients. On a G2 aktiv, they are probably posted on a placard on the drive-side beam.

Hi,
I’m not sure if this will help(I’m yet to upgrade to Windows 10 & Calypso 6.8) but there is some information on page 12 of the Calypso 2019 release notes regarding the com port settings for Windows 10 specifically.
If the above is not relevant also check that you don’t have a firewall that is blocking the cmm connection. I had this issue a couple of weeks ago after IT upgraded the firewall software, now I have to disable it after every reboot.
Good luck. 🙂
