Good morning Zeiss community. I've programmed quite a few years ago, but now I've been asked to support my programming team for a big project. What I want have is we are running these extensive part programs which has a run time of about 1.0 hours. The problem / situation I have is that these are prototypes and I wish to reference the actual data that was ran on a certain serial number. 5 runs later and I want to review / revise alignments, change tolerances, review data on part no. 2 for example. I remember calypso saves each run of a part program by the incremental part number. So once I have the part program up, I can load a certain run within File, load measured points under that specific serial number I previously assigned at the initial run. I remember I accessed this through the Resources tab, results to file screen, but I unfortunately can't remember if its the measuring points on / off and limits which sets this or not. Can someone run the procedure by me again. That would be much appreciated. On another note, each run of the part program under a certain serial number, what type of format is calypso saving each run as? If I run a serialized part program 1000 times, doing what I've stated above, calypso isn't saving that measurement plan 1000 times is it? Thanks in advance.

Resources > Results to File > Measuring Points > ON. Set limit to 9999999 or whatever number you feel would be adequate to cover all of the parts you may run over time.

Format? Are you talking about the measured points? If so, the point data is saved as are zipped text files in the Measurement Plan folder under "idmeaspoints" folder.

Measured Points will overwrite data each time you run it assuming serial number is incremental part number.

Resources > Results to File... Measuring Points /9999/ limit (if you wish get max amount of point files available)

To load the points...

File > Load Measured Points...

Rerun the program and uncheck the radio button for "Clear Existing Results" if you wish to review the program results without edits.

You can also view the characteristics and features after loading points without executing the program

Each serial number under "Incremental Part Number" you assign will save under the existing measurement plan folder. You must assign a unique number as repeating the number will overwrite the previous saved points.

Tom, I just looked, these files are .ZMP files. Are ZMP files, text files? So when you recall this specific SN of a certain measurement plan, calypso shoots these values back into the part program and Poof, the data for SNxxx is there, just like you just ran it this morning. Is that correct?

Yes, these are the zipped text files. I recommend using Plan > Subsequent Evaluation > Load Points (Select desired point file) Run. Now, the features and characteristics are as though you just finished running the part.

To reload the points no need to go to File/ Load just go to Plan/ Subsequent Evaluation and click load points there and you will not need to uncheck Clear Existing Results.

Subsequent Evaluation is the way to go. However, I believe if the data from the original run is in the same file path as where the subsequent evaluation is going, then the original data will be overwritten by the new subsequent evaluation data. Just a heads up.

I have used "Subsequent Evaluation" / "Load Measured Points" many times in the past to send the Table Files to a different location for a separate evaluation.

The problem I have encountered ever since Calypso 2018 upgrade is the measured points getting loaded back in with an "_SE" at the end of the file name. How can this option be reset to how it was for Calypso 2015 (we skipped 2016 and 2017)? It seems the "_SE" is a safety feature to not accidentally overwrite your previous runs, but the software we use for this separate evaluation is not recognizing the files with the "_SE" at the end. This forces me to open the "protheadpara" file for that program, and manually change the "partnbinc" and "partnpre" incremental part numbers manually, open the program back up, and "dry-run" the results to the new location.

Anyone else experiencing this, because searches on this topic yield nothing?

I used to do this at my last place, I think it depends on "Incremental part number field" (the number that rolls up every CNC run)
My current company uses something other than Inc.Part Number.
If you're header/input screen has Incremental part number . type in your S/N, etc. and the .zmp should be saved as that.
It makes it so much easier when looking at the files, rather than searching by date/time, etc.

Good luck!
