Stylus Clearance distance

Hello guys

I had doubt about stylus clearance/safe distance.

One of my friends run the CMM without knowing the clearance distance, stylus hit the side guide way/bridge Piller and it broke/fell down when it turn the another direction (eg. 2 nd direction).

I have seen a scenario when calibration time, stylus came to the centre of reference sphere & turns another direction.

So what my question is, I want stylus going up in z direction and came to middle of the base alignment/part centre and change the direction. is there ANY OPTION for that.

But I want to know about how the swivel position behaviour while running the program/end off the program.

Sorry for asking this.

Because I am new to CMM so that's why I can't take any risk because when I was make mistake whole production stops in my shift.

Can you please explain that. That might be helpful for me.
