[Ch...]
Hi, I am cross sectioning a cylindrical part with gear like teeth on the circumference to create a point set in a free form surface. It's more economical to scan slowly and cover the arc that the probe can comfortably get to. The parts are not perfect and I see tons of masked points along the point set. I have decreased speed as well and reduced step width but still see the masked points through out the scan. The vectors of the points seem consistent to part geometry as well. I've turned off manual point masking for both time and number of points. Gone into the evaluation setting for the freeform and turned off the check box that does point elimination based on change of surface. Pretty much run out of options to unmask these points. I'm worried that this seemingly random masking will affect my capability results when different parts are scanned due to tight tolerances. Any ideas on getting these points back? Oh I've also tried recall points from a copy of the freeform. Made sure all the surfaces used were actively stated in the feature window. Any help is much appreciated. I can post screenshots if it helps in the morning! Thanks!
