[K...]
How to perform Start Alignment? Please write in detail step by step.. Thank you
[Ro...]
I put my start alignment in after i have my program finished. We use start alignment only when doing manual alignments, base alignment for normal runs. 3 points is all i use for start alignment, 1 point each for X & Y & Z, no planes or lines. remember that if you leave your level or rotation empty in the alignment, the program will default to machine axes for level & rotation. So when we start a program that needs manual alignment we use start alignment with manual selected. program will prompt operator for 3 points, after that the program will run like normal. Personally the reason i started using start alignment was because we had a family of parts (80 to 100 programs) that had almost no flat surfaces, all surfaces were either angled or rounded. Datums were centered between angled planes and manual alignments were difficult and took a long time to do. After instructing my operators to "look at the screen and take 3 points as close as possible to where the points are on the model", our alignment times went from 5-6 minutes to less than 1 minute, with no drop in accuracy.Capture4.JPGCapture44.JPGCapture444.JPG

[To...]
If you tick the Manual Alignment box in the start alignment, it will automatically choose Manual Alignment when you select Start Alignment in the Run window.

[Da...]
Sorry for hijacking thread, anyway, anyone uses "Automatic Measurement" in start alignment? Any example?startautom.PNG
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Here's one example that I used to know. Hopefully I didn't forget anything. Thanks to Mark Busha and/or John Pearson for the following: Let say you have an impeller blade and you're using a point on one of the blades for your planar rotation. Most likely, you'll want to use a loop in your alignment to zero in the repeatability of that point. However, the cycle time of looping the other BA features may make for a long cycle time. You can use the Start Alignment as your Base alignment, excluding the planar rotation. You'll want to run the Start Alignment in automatic mode. Then, the Base alignment will only have the point in the planar rotation. After the start alignment runs, then base alignment runs with the loop active, but it will only loop the point until the rotation meets the condition statement. [Ow...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Here, with illustrations, is a document given to me almost 15 years ago (by Mark Busha himself) using the start alignment being used with an iterative alignment. [To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Yes, that's the one. I remembered all pretty well. Forgot the point was a space point. Thank you for posting. Ever since our ransomware attack in March, I've lost access to many documents like this that I've collected over the years. [Ch...]
That document/strategy and Owen are the only reason I can program on supercharger rotors.
