33 Collision

543 O-inspect, as of late is frequently stopping mid program with "33 Collision" in the Status Window.
Stylus isn't hitting anything but air. My first guess would be a dirty scale/reader head. Anyone else seen this?

Yeah. I would think of that, or you have heavy stylus system.

Zeiss wrote the program, and designed the stylus system, which is just over the weight & length limit.
But it has never done this before.

I've brought up the weight and length issue before, and they say it's not a problem. I can't access the
scales to see if they are dirty on an O-inspect as they are covered.

Weight will always be the hard limit for any sensor.

I don't know how far over it is, but I would think that long term usage would have adverse affects on the sensor.

There are times where I've had to build stylus systems that go over length, but I tend to not worry so much if the weight is OK. If the weight is over, I try to not use that unless it is an emergency, and then I keep the usage limited.
