[To...]
Hi We have a lot of parts that we check prior surface treatment, and I would like to check them in the exact same way when they have had their surface treatment. Can I somehow make one program where I at the start up of the program specify wether it is pre or post surface treatment, so that it nows which tolerances to use. Maybe a dropdown menu? I could copy the program, but if I make any changes to the program I will have to do it in both program which I don't like.
[No...]
That's what PCM was made for. Alternatively you could make a pre and post version of each characteristic and put all the pre characteristics in one miniplan and all the post in another. Then you can choose the desired miniplan at CNC start.
[Ro...]
Agree with Norbert if you have PCM you can select "pre Plate" or "Plated" from a drop down menu, and your tolerances will change, maybe your nominals will change, maybe there will be a notation in the header so you know what program was run. I would personally do it as an If statement and assign values based on which part was selected. but you could also do it as a parafile, or you could use PCM to select a miniplan, and taking the onus away from the operator knowing he/she needs to select the correct program at startup and making the miniplan selection part of the program. but if you dont have PCM than as Norbert stated you can just setup a simple miniplan. [To...]
Thank you guys. Unfortunately I do not have PCM, so Mini-plan is my only option, but that gives me another question. We run most of our programs in autorun. Can I somehow choose which miniplan I want when running the program in Autorun?
[Ow...]
I believe setting up auto-run icon's for different operations with Min-plans is defined starting on page 12 of the attached doc.Autorun.pdf
[Ri...]
That's a little old. When you go to Define Run Parameters, you can select "Choose run on icons". It eliminates having to create icons for each Mini-Plan.
[Ow...]
Richard is right, what I posted is an older document, like me. 🤣 I was just skim reading through the post on the lunch hour and thought I had an answer that would help. I've yet to use mini-plans with autorun. Thanks for correction Rich.
[To...]
Thanks a lot. That's great. Can I somehow define which mini plan is default? That way I am sure that the production will always choose the program which is prior to surface treatment. If it will just choose the last mini plan that has been chosen I know we will have a lot of runs without any value. Another thing is. Which Auto-run run do I have to give to operators so they are able to change between mini plan?
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. 1st question - When you Define Run Parameters, if you select the Mini-Plan you want to show first that will be the default. They will have to drop down and select a different one if they want. 2nd question - Are you talking about privileges? I believe it's "Define run selection on icons."
