Profile Overall Evaluation? How does one do this?

The easiest way to do this would be the following:
  • Measure each relevant feature as a series of cylinders, planes, etc.
  • Create a free form surface feature.
  • Recall feature points of all relevant measured surfaces.
  • Populate the list box of surfaces used in the free form surface feature.
  • Create a surface profile characteristic with datum C in your datum reference frame.

My methodology would to use the section tool to create several section lines throughout the enter body and use the Create FFS from Curves. The section lines have been removed. This part only involves 2 planes and 2 cylinders but imagine it there were many planes and cylinders. That gives you continuous scanning paths like in the picture.

I see the error of my ways. The correct answer should have been "it s controlling the size, form and the orientation relative to A of the features.

this is a SURFACE Profile. and it is all-around. therefore you will need to use FREEFORM. then select the faces in the order you are going to measure them.
