[Ro...]
Is there a way for Calypso to NOT automatically change the part number increment when doing a save as? For instance i'm working on a file in a dump folder, when i go to save the file to the network drive Calypso takes my "Part Rev03" and changes it to "Part Rev04", which as you can imagine is not cool. So far I've never been burnt by this, but on occasion its caused a scare. For some reason i think this is controlled by a check box.
[Am...]
I've tried to look for this before and im not sure that there is. If it was a checkbox I believe it would be in Extras>Settings>Environment>Save but I don't see anything there. I have looked around through the config files and tried to find something where that is set to try and change it with no luck. If you can I think that would be your best bet, I always make a copy of the folder im going to be digging around in case any changes I make screws something up. [Th...]
You could use the "Copy to" function instead. It's less fun to navigate the tiny little folder tree you get, but I don't think it makes that 'helpful' name change the save as dialog does. Personally I've just gotten in the habit of drag/dropping via Windows file explorer if I need to shift programs around.
[Ro...]
well i don't always use it just for moving files, i also use save as a lot because i program almost exclusively in part families. So if i have 1 part to program, chances are good that i'tll come in 6 or 8 or 10 thickness variations. so ill end up with partName_1mm_Rev3 and ill get 1 working program and have to offset the free form surfaces to size 2mm, 3mm, and so on. And with thickness changes there will most always be just enough difference between part 3 and part 8 that i can't parameterize the program, which would be cool if i could, but it almost never works out for me. [Me...]
This problem is not Calypso but windows. The only way is separate sub folders.
[Ro...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The only reason i would disagree with that is that PCDmis & solidworks & our Keyence vision system don't do that. You hit save as and the name stays the same, and if you don't change the name it says "file already exists, do you want to overwrite?".
[Ja...]
Calypso most likely does not have this feature since when you create a new file or use save as a new sub-folder is created. If you need a new program name from an existing program, use save as. If you need to move a program from a build to a live folder, move the folder within Windows. Windows will ask you to overwrite if the folder already exists.
[Me...]
I don't know if this can help you: N1.- follow these steps: Resourece --- Name for output file - for this Measurement plan. N2.- Directory ----- select folder where you want to save information. N3.- Select Printout header fields ----- select order instead of incremental part Number. N4.- put the desired name in order. N5.- verify what result is stored in the folderN5.pngN4.pngN3.pngN2.pngN1.png
