[Me...]
So Zeiss has sent us a blurb about the end of Win7 support. We are a small shop so to buy new computers with Calypso 2019 would be a hard pill to swallow. It would be 3. Also there was another page attached about the controller. Is this something that also will need to be replaced?
[Te...]
Can your current PC's make the move to Windows 10? Might need to add more memory. Microsoft Extended Support for Win 7 is ending January 2020 hence the change to Win 10 only.

[Ow...]
I updated my home computer to windows 10 for free awhile back, it's now slower than snails on drugs. However, one of the new computers I got at work running windows 10 does not run slow.

[Me...]
I had this year in mind when I typed. Be it '18 or '19. We're going to need to talk to the tech. It's kinda a punch in the gut when something like this occurs. With small shops like us inspection is considered a necessary evil. --Overhead--. So now we need to scramble, slowly, and figure our best options. To your point Owen it's what I figured would happen. It'll run alright on our comps...or should we say a pub crawl. Also I'll probably call software but does anybody know why I need to check the controller?
[Wo...]
I have upgraded all my Calypso PC's to Windows 10 the moment the release notes stated the windows 7 support is ending. Microsoft was offering free upgrade at the time so I jumped on it. Not a problem ever since. Don't know anything what they might say about a controller, there is something about that in release notes but it doesn't affect my machines so I didn't pay attention. Good luck! [De...]
If you are using the old version and do not upgrade then this will not affect you until/unless you decide to upgrade your Calypso to the newest version. Although as stated previously in this thread, support is likely ending for the OS you are using which might be something your IT department might want to address. [Da...]
We have just upgraded to Windows 10 but are running Calypso 2014 version 5.8 and unable to install license without errors on the new PC. Any help would be appreciated.

[Da...]
I was able to install the program no problem. When i installed the license CD and try to follow steps from there. A big red screen pops up and says it cannot proceed. I will try to get a screenshot of that to share.

[Da...]
Hi Dane; yes, I am logged in as an Administrator with full privileges. I have also inquired my company's IT about if they were blocking the license installation which they assured me their not.
[Ri...]
Can you go to the program location and right click and select Run As Administrator?
[mi...]
I was under the understanding that only Calypso 6 and beyond will support windows 10 so when I upgraded to Windows 10 I also upgraded to newest version of Calypso
[Th...]
I'll just have a guess at what's happening here based on the picture you posted. Your IT department probably has group policy settings that block the installation of unsigned code. That error message says that Windows can't tell who the publisher is, and that most likely means that the version of ZLAU that shipped with 5.8 doesn't have a digital signature. Windows uses these signatures to validate the authenticity of a program, verifying that it is what it says it is. From a security perspective, it makes sense to just never allow unsigned programs to be opened, so your IT department wouldn't be blocking this program specifically. You might try downloading the current ZLAU installer from the Zeiss portal, as that does have a digital signature, and is more likely to be allowed to run.
