[Jo...] Posted July 27, 2019 Share Posted July 27, 2019 Hello, The o-inspect unit was working yesterday, powered down over night, and now this morning the drives wont enable. I have restarted the unit several times and changed to a different outlet. Same goes for the PC it's hooked into. One time it got stuck in a boot loop, with the machine endlessly going through the start up sequences. Usually however it takes longer than usual to finish booting but i'm unable to turn the drives on. Thanks for any ideas and support. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
[No...] Posted July 30, 2019 Share Posted July 30, 2019 The machine should come up even without a connected PC, so I think these are seperate issues. You can also home the machine from the joystick box with SHIFT-(lower half of)RETURN followed by F12. A common problem when booting the controller is when the machine axes are already hitting the limit switches. This can prevent the drives from turning on. Or when the drives are on and the machine is homed from the PC, but the axes are too close to the limits, homing may fail and the drives shut down again. In both cases you need to CAREFULLY pull the locked axes back inside the measurement volume before you try a restart. I instructed our untrained operators to always leave the X/Y axes approx. in the middle of the table and the Z axis about 15 cm down before they shut down the controller.
