[St...]
Calypso 2015 / Vast XXT WITH CAA All of a sudden my machine is acting up. When taking a point on a surface, the machine will touch the part, the indicator light turns amber and then it just sits there for awhile. Sometimes it triggers and keeps going, other times it doesn't and then creates a new "Point" characteristic and errors out. I was running an order of parts thru and noticed that it didn't always happen at the same place every time. In general it happens when taking X or Y measurements (never in Z). We were on shut down last week and before that I was not having any issues. The machine was powered down for the entire week Thanks Steve
[Mi...]
Shot in the dark, but is the part fixtured securely? This wouldn't be related to the shutdown you mentioned, but symptom sounds like my experience when the part is free to rock when it's probed. In this case the probe waits for the part to "settle" before taking a reading, and sometimes errors out.
[St...]
I agree, I've seen that before as well. One of the parts I was having issues with was being held in a vise and was rock solid. Sometimes just re running the feature would correct the problem Steve
[Mi...]
Did you ever figure out anything on this?
[St...]
One of the axis drives may be going bad. When the problem occurs I'm noticing a vibration in the Z beam. If I slow down the machine to 40 mm/sec it seems to error out a lot less. Looks like its time for a service call.
