"Stylus system change Disk contacts not closed"

Hi, everyone. We have a large gantry machine (MMZ-B) with an RDS-CAA and XXT sensor. Just a few minutes ago, during an auto stylus system change, the machine refused to detect / recognize the stylus system. It placed the system back into its holder and attempted to engage it 2 more times, at which point I encountered the error message "Stylus system change Disk contacts not closed". I'm thinking this is hardware related, but has anyone else came across this before? Any insight is appreciated.

This happened recently to one of our DuraMax machines with a direct-mount XXT. It was hardware-related and we had to have the head replaced. Best I can tell, it means the XXT isn't able to close the circuit that's normally completed when the bearing contacts are seated, so it doesn't know if it's holding anything. (This is conjecture on my part, and I really should have asked the tech when he was here if that's how it operates, so don't quote me on it.)

I disassembled the adapter plate / extension / sensor combo and cleaned all contacts with alcohol. So far, it seems to be acting normally; we'll see. Thank you for your input, dude!
