Measuring coaxiality on thread elements

Hi everyone,

i'm realizing a Zeiss programm where i want to check coaxiality between two thread elements.


As measuring strategy, i'm using a helix path with correct pitch of threads and a speed of 2 mm/s and step width of 0.05.

Thread elements are M16X1.5 and GAS 1/4" . For both stylus diameter is 3 mm.

I would like to know if, based on your experience, i could have some new advices about this kind of measurement. 🙂

Fausto, try to search the forum for similar threads, I'm sure someone posted a detailed pdf on threaded stuff originally by Ellison Technologies.
