Basic PiWeb and Calypso 6.2.1x (2016)

Calypso v6.2.1x (2016)
Win7

It seams everything is about Calypso v6.4 or higher and PiWeb Plus.
Even the help file in 2016 is based on PiWeb Plus, which makes it mostly useless for basic PiWeb users.

My question is, where do I find a list of variables used in "Custom printout", "Default" reports? (Ref: vphead.gra file)
I am trying to add fields in Basic PiWeb using the same parameters as used in the original printout forms.

Creating userfields doesn't seem to work.
(userfields.txt, userfields.ini)

There's a reference list of header variables vs. PiWeb variables somewhere in the Calypso help file. But I'm not sure if it was already there in 2016. They added it when they extended the number of supported Calypso variables.
The list is a bit hidden, so if you can't find it, tell me and I'll look it up asap.

Switching from the Custom Printout to the PiWeb Standard Protocol (in regards to header variables) can be a pain.

First, variables are created/managed in Resources - Design custom printout - Editor for user-defined printout header variables...

Second, as far as I am aware (please someone correct me if I am not), you still need to have a custom printout created which will have these header variables in it.

Third, once you have your custom printout built, select it in Define printout - Custom printout.

Fourth, you need to run the program at least once with these header variables having been added.

Fifth, once you have ran it at least once, the new header variables will be able to be selected when designing your custom PiWeb Standard Protocol.

If someone knows of a much simpler way, please let me know. Thanks.

From a Zeiss email.

Now I will have loads of "machine downtimes" because of this implementation of PiWeb.
Having to create new userfields means having to edit every file we have, thousands of files.

Time is money...

Might help. Once you make a template with all your header data, you can use the same template on any program. Only draw back I found is when you use the template for the first time, you have to go into>> Multiple Printout then in the upper right click the Select Printout header parameters. Then whatever check box you check will show up as before. Also will depend on if you check the box under RUN or Measurement. The RUN column will force data input when you run the program. IE serial, machine # etc. You make the list under the Resources - Design custom printout - Editor for user-defined printout header variables menu. As shown in the video.

Once you make master templates, you can use them on all your programs. I have 3 master templates that I pull into my prgs. Once you associate the template and header variables to a prg, they are always there. Once and done. BUT the once can be a PIA.

Also when you upgrade Calypso OR DL a patch etc. Make copies of your templates. They WILL be overwritten with default ones. At least mine did on the last upgrade.

I know I'm a little late to this thread, but I wanted to clarify that adding variables to the custom printout is no longer necessary. That was required in early versions (I think Calypso 2015.) and has since been fixed.

Also, you can find the code for the variables you're using in the "Select printout header parameters" window. In Calypso 2016 I think it just says the code to the right. It will be something like ${Qdb.Measurement(1114)}. In Calypso 2017 and 2018 it's a little more hidden. With bubble help on, hover over the right side of the parameter name.

I have no bubble help when hovering. Any chance someone has the "Master List" of the Calypso/PiWeb parameter designations? I get the joke that Calypso is nothing but drop-down menus and hidden "features," but the joke is getting old. I just want comprehensive documentation.
