Hole pattern as a datum

I have tried searching this forum and google for a solution but without luck.
I am having a datum that is four cylinders. How can I combine them as a single feature so I am able to choose them as my datum.

Thanks for the quick answer, but it doesn't get me all the way.

As the datum is supposed to be my tertiary datum for a true position of a plane I am not able to choose it.
How could I do that?

One way... Create True Position of the cylinders as a bore pattern constraining the correct DOF to your Primary and Secondary datums, for example rotation only, and use the alignment created from the pattern as your datum structure for TP of the plane.

Think I have figured out now.

Created hole pattern with the Primary and secondary Datums.
Then create a new True position and choose Datum Reference frame -> Alignment "Bestfit1" .

When I do so there will only be a primary datum? But this primary datum will be the same as the previous datums but include the hole pattern as Tertiary datum?

Thank you for this, I will try something similar hopefully soon.
Sorry if I missed the slide, but where does the intersections come from?

Ozgur, thanks for the tip on the Problem Step Recorder. I didn’t know that existed.

If I understand the OPs’ problem correctly (please correct me if I’m wrong), I have the exact same problem. I have a datum reference frame with a primary and secondary datum, with the third being a bolt pattern. The best fit method that Ozgur did such a nice job of showing covers the bolt pattern, however it doesn’t account for the primary and secondary datums. I believe there are a couple of ways to integrate them. The first way would be to refer to them using the Select References button in the Best Fit. For the callout I’m working on, this method doesn’t allow me to associate the primary datum, only the secondary. So what I did was to make a secondary alignment using the primary and secondary datums only (eliminating as many DOF as possible) and referring to that alignment in the Best Fit alignment instead of the default base alignment. Now all three datums would be accounted for. Is that acceptable? One thing to keep in mind though – you won’t receive any bonus tolerance on any of the datums listed in the datum reference frame (if applicable). You’ll have to use a result element to add any bonus.
