Rotating a program

I have a program that is completely done and has been run any times before, for years. There is an issue where we would like to hold the part in a different orientation. My question is, is it possible to rotate the model and program easily? I looked through all of the options and didn't see anything like that.

You can actually orient the part however you want. Calypso doesn't care if you mount the part upside down. The only thing you should have to change is probe's and clearance planes.

So how would i go about running the part because the parts origin is set in a certain orientation so if i set the part on its side the +z vector would actually be lets say -Y now. How do I rotate the program and model to tell the machine what orientation the part is in?

I believe there are a couple ways to do it, 1 by rotating model (if you have one) and 2 by rotating the alignment.
I'd try the alignment way, seems like it works best but, proceed with caution, my photogenic memory is getting low on film.
Rotate the Base Alignment.
1st, save your program and name it for the new rotation (key here is not to accidentally screw up the original).
2nd, save the program again, name it no2 (or whatever so it's different) that way you have 2 copies in case you flip wrong way and can't get it to unflip.
3rd, not a bad idea to make a 3rd copy.
4th, open up the base alignment and click the special button and (if I understand the way you say's it's orientated) choose the rotate by angle around Y positive and flip it 90°. The program coordinates and the model should rotate to the new position after you close the base alignment. You'll probably have to update the clearance planes and maybe choose to use different probes (when you flip it, it keeps the same probes assigned to it) if the way you approach it is different.
After you're sure everything is OKAY and you've run it, you can delete the extra programs you made, the just in case programs:-)

Let me illustrate what Chad said above (yes, Andreas, I know.....😉 - I've stopped counting)

You can do this.....

....and Calypso won't care.

All you have to do is:
* change the probes used to physically match the features and
* manually measure the base alignment exactly as before - that means, probe the points exactly as directed by Calypso (and don't forget that you're probing in base alignment coordinates, not in machine coordinates.)

How do I get the CMM to show up like your pictures. It would be so much easier if I could see the CMM and Rack in the Operating window. Is this done specially some how?

Chad, I think you only need to worry about the probes. The clearance planes will move with the new Base Alignment.

Judging from other responses, I guess rotating the cad model is the best way.
Working in Research and Development, I never have to mess with rotating older programs because about everything is one and done.
The reason I did mention doing it with the alignment is because, when I did have to do it (several years ago) the alignment rotated everything and doing it with the cad model would sometimes miss moving curve geometry but, that's been years ago and the software could have improved, no, wait a minute, the software is always perfect. 🤣

Just to clarify my post above:
My pictures were meant to illustrate the situation on the real machine, not in Calypso. I was just too lazy to make photos, and Calypso conveniently showed the rotated base alignment too.

So I didn't mean to rotate the CAD model, but the real part (only).
