[St...] Posted June 5, 2019 Share Posted June 5, 2019 I've just started a new job and have noticed that the machine they have (Contura RDS) makes a faint humming noise when the Z axis is extended out nearer the higher limit of travel. [No...] Posted June 6, 2019 Share Posted June 6, 2019 I don't know about the newer Conturas, but our old one (one of the first) doesn't have a counterweight. The Z axis is balanced by some kind of pneumatic cylinder. Ours needed a repair or adjustment at this part many years ago, but I don't remember why.
