Not picking up Stlyus System due to Controller Temp ?

Hello Wizards!

I'm driving a ACCURA II, and "sometimes" the CMM will either drop off a stylus syetem and just stop - OR - it will drive into the dock, and back out without picking up... but it thinlks it has actually picked it up!

The first time I had this issue, It was associated with a CPU temp of 50-52C...(ran ok up to a temp of 47-48C) - AND - the fan speed was slow.
What we ended up doing was upgeading the controller, for a larger heatsink & new fan, which dropped the temp, and we no longer had the issue.
Now, a few months later... we are having the same issue/malfunction, with a CPU temp of approx 42C (runs ok up to 40C)... so, I'm guessing that somethng other than the CPU is overheating.

Has anyone else had this type of (overheating/failure) issue, and how was it resolved?

My current train of thought is to look into more powerful intake fans -or- having an exhaust fan installed (somehow)

Oh... and YES the filters are clean.

Thanks!

We have had issues with controllers getting to hot but in general it has always been caused by the filters.

Just a suggestion, but If you have a infrared thermometer available you might be able to use it to track down what is getting so hot.
