Is there a easy way to create a large amount of similar features?

Is there an easy way to create a large amount of hole feature instead of clicking every single hole? I need to program a part that have 10,000 holes with multiple hole sizes.
We have Zeiss Contura and Calypso 2015

If they're all the same size, you can define a pattern. These can be circular, rectangular or "pattern with position list", which lets you enter the x- and y- coordinates of each instance.

To do this, open the feature editor of the first hole you've defined, and select "pattern" from the options dropdown.

EDIT: whoops, didn't realize you had multiple hole sizes. If they're all unique, I don't know of a fix. You may be able to use the "Missing bore" feature, but I've never tried it.

Thanks for your response Michael. There are some irregular pattern on the part also. Pattern option can save some time but there are still a few hundreds pattern need to be defined.
I have used other CAD programming software which have the function to select all the same size features on one same plane. Just wondering if Calypso have something similar.

Hello,

go to Save / Load Defaults. There you can define a "Materstrategie" for all holes createt from now on. That will save you all the clicks for the Strategie. But if there a easy way to create all these characteristics......i dont know 😮

Do you have a CAD model?

If so, go to CAD/ Extract and extract the feature type you want. They will be added to a list. Go through that list and select the ones you want and apply. They will be added to your feature list.

Now edit one of the features then use the paintbrush tool to change the rest of the features and you're done.

With out a cad model, probably the quickest way would be to create one hole feature, set the strategy and evaluation technique you want it to use, copy and past the feature 10,000 times. Then go to the measurement plan editor and click the drop down menu and select nominal geometry. There you can change all the X,Y,Z locations and diameters in a list type of editor so you don't have to open each feature to change them.
10,000 holes, I hope you have a cad model.

And the intelligent way of copying and pasting so many elements is not to press paste 10,000 times, but to first copy one and paste it, then copy and paste the first and the second, which makes four in total, then copy/paste the four, making 8, and so on. This way the number of elements grows exponentially and you're done after 14x paste (better stop after 13 or you'll have to delete more than 6000 again 😃 )
