Ignoring stylus systems that aren't assigned a holder location on run

Another issue driving me up the wall today, since it's not consistent per machine. I've got a few programs that utilize a 0.5mm stylus as part of a full inspection. These same programs are run under a reduced CAD feature set, defined via mini-plan, in production. The production machines don't have rack space for their own 0.5mm (and I don't plan on utilizing such a delicate stylus tip in a shop environment anyway) and that's causing Calypso to complain before each run that the 0.5mm stylus isn't assigned to a rack location, except it's not complaining on one of them. There are two identical DuraMaxes, and only one of them cares that the 0.5mm is missing from the rack. I cannot for the life of me find what setting might have been toggled to get the one to skip this check where the other one won't. I'm not even certain that it IS a setting and not a very convenient, and very localized, bug. My Contura throws this warning, and my offline sim seat does not, so I'm very confused by this. What might I be missing?

So if i understand you right, you want calypso to think it has a probe that is part of a program, but never used......
I think you could fix this 1 of 2 ways

1, since you are never going to use that feature, just switch tips for that feature to the same tip you use in the rest of the program, and the problem goes away.
This could be a problem if you are getting your programs off a network drive, or it could be a problem years down the road when the "tribal knowledge" of this workaround is long forgotten.......

2. create a new "Virtual" tool holder that doesn't actually exist but in the mind of calypso, and load it with your .5mm tip.
I haven't thought this thru, so i don't even know if you will need to define its location, or if just being there will be enough to satisfy calypso.
If you do have to locate the new tool holder, then get creative. i would personally figure a way to do it out in space toward the middle of the table so in the accidental case that this miniplan is selected you aren't running your cmm head into the probe rack.

These programs do come off the network, so I can't change the stylus system to a common one. I can try the pretend stylus holder option, but my goal is to understand why one machine doesn't seem to care about it. Neither one has a defined rack location for this dummy stylus system, but one doesn't throw that warning at all.

Id check what version of calypso each one is using, which patch and service pack. There is a chance that one is running a slightly different patch from the rest and its not giving you the issue.

They're both on 6.6.1209. I know now that patches aren't supposed to be installed willy-nilly (and the SDP site actually says that next to patches now, which is cool) but since nothing terrible has happened as a result of using the patches, I haven't interrupted the shop crew in order to downgrade them to the base SP version.

The 1209 patches can be tricky, but you have to consider that Pope innocent and Otto the IV were going at it in Germany, and the Albigensian Crusades wearent going as planned.
Middle age programs are generally terrible, The Renaissance programs are much better, it really was the age of discovery.
