[Me...]
Hi all, I'm adding a 2nd reference sphere for calibrating small probe diameters (.3-.8mm). What size do you recommend? 8mm or 15 mm? Much thanks, Robert
[De...]
Since you are intending to use it specifically for calibrating small probes I would suggest the 8mm. The 15mm may eventually prove to be too large for some probes depending on probe length / configuration of the probe and you might still end up having to buy the 8mm after all. [Ca...]
I have an 8mm for qualifying small probes, and a 30mm for everything else.
[Al...]
0.3mm and 0.6mm styli are the workhorses in our place. If you purchase your styli from Zeiss, you can use up to a 25mm diameter sphere with no interference. My G2 came with a 30mm sphere so I use that and an 8mm sphere for our qualification program.
