Move Point

AFter my program runs the probe sit right in the middle of the part. I want to create a clear point at the end of my program but I am not sure how to do this. I am assuming it has something to do with the clearance features. Can someone point me in the general direction please 🙂

More info would be helpful. Depending on your Calypso version and control box, it could be as easy as moving the probe to where you want it, and pressing the button on top of the joystick.

I use the method Mark specified above.

I generally set it up to just got to a clearance plane with an offset.

I move to the Z Plus clearance plane with an offset of 2.0 inches (or 50 mm if in metric.), then have it move to the Y Plus clearance plane with an offset of 2.0 inches.

If using the rotary table I use RTCP +Z, then move the rotary to 0.0 and then move to RTCP +Y

The offset that is shown in the clearance plane move is how far it will move after it gets to the clearance plane.

I have seen some people use the stylus position to determine where the stylus will move to, but I would caution against it as it can cause an error if the stylus tip it expects is not available on whichever stylus is in the head at the end of the program.

Thank you All.

I went to the plan/navigation/cmm park posititon and positioned the probe where I wanted it to go and pressed the button and it worked great.

  • 3 weeks later...
From the menu, Go to Plan -> Navigation -> Navigation Paths List

Choose the end park position path, and you can right click to delete it.
